Ramathra fort is the legacy of former king of Karauli, who is also the founder of this city. Therefore, this fort is owned by the descendants of the king’s family and currently belongs to Thakur Brijendra Raj Pal. Back in the year 1645, the Maharaja of Karauli gave this fort to his son Thakur Bhoj Pal as a gift who has been passing it to his younger generations. The fort today is a lavish heritage hotel with all the modern amenities one can think of and is located between Ranthambhor Tiger Reserve and Kaldeo Ghana Bird Sannctuary both of which are popular national parks in the city. The lush green lawns surrounding the tents is a superb experience.
