The palace is not in heart of Jodhpur city but only a stone’s throw away from Mandore, ancient capital of Marwar and 8 km from Jodhpur city centre. The palace is located near the lake which was engineered in 12th century although the palace building was built by Maharaja Jaswant Singh ji of Jodhpur later in 17th century.
