Narain Niwas Palace – Jaipur

It was constructed by the legendary General Amar Singh of Kanota Thikanna, in the year 1928. Initially, a garden retreat, the property was later expanded into a complete house. It’s well-known for its deep verandahs overlooking the garden, laid by the first Indian appointed into the British army. The mod-cons inside are a capricious mix of magnificent portraits, lavish chandeliers, painted walls with religious images, ornate fireplaces, and hybrid colonial furniture. The place is run by a royal family and has 28 rooms along with a multi-cuisine restaurant.
