Bundi is a residential community with a rural setting that stands on the foothills of the Aravalli Mountains. It was established in 1342 A.D. by a Hada Chauhan Chief. Southeast of Ajmer, prevails the beautiful city of Bundi. Bundi is extremely well-known for its ‘Baolis’- which means the waterworks or step wells. Besides this, Havelis, sanctuaries and chhatris with cut columns are a vital part of Bundi’s identity. A brilliant white post shields the interesting houses a precarious cleared carriage path that paves the way to a complex of stunning spots glowing with wonderful wall paintings, everything reflected in a profound lapping lake in the inside. Bundi compositions are well-known for the ideal connection between Ajanta hole depictions and frescoes of Rajasthan.
TOURIST PLACES
TARAGARH OR THE STAR FORT
The white post that stands on a lush slope is one of most striking strongholds of Rajasthan. The fortress was brought up in 1354 A.D and has a monster entryway. Inside the fortification, one can see the giant bastion called Burj and a huge supply cut out of a strong rock. The fort grants a bird’s eye view of the entire town and a majestic vista of the nightfall.
THE BUNDI PALACE
The great structure found bordering the Taragarh Fort on the slope, displays the phenomenal craftsmanship of the spot. The remarkable conventional wall paintings represent the quality and richness of the illustrious inhabitants of this castle. Chitrashala is a section of the Bundi Palace and comprises of a workmanship display or structure that shows smaller than expected brilliant wall paintings delineating scenes from the Ragmala and Raaslila-the account of Radha-Krishna.
NAVAL SAGAR
A pleasant lake that adds to the appeal of the city, at the focal point of which lies a Hindu temple devoted to the God Varuna.
CHHATAR MAHAL
This castle can be come to by a precarious way. The royal residence houses the Naubat Khana, Hazari Pol or Gate of the thousand, the Hathi Pol with its old water clock and the Diwann-e-Aam.
CHITRASHALA
This spot is remarked for the paintings representing the Radha-Krishna legends. The eighteenth-century wall paintings happen to be some of the finest murals we have.
PHOOL MAHAL
The Phool Mahal (palace of flowers) can be defined as the royal residence of blooms. It has an impressive collection of wall paintings worked by Italian detainees of war and some hunting relics.
SHIKAR BURJ
The imperial chasing lodge remains in the woods, south of Phool Sagar or the pool of flowers. Bundi woods are loaded with untamed life and the illustrious chases for tiger, deer and wild pig were renowned.
SUKH NIWAS
It is a lavish summer royal residence encompassed by a wonderful verdant greenhouse on the Sukh Sagar Lake.
